Coach Adam Bumsted is entering his fifth year as the Head Girls Cross Country & Track Coach at Springdale High School and his 13th year overall of coaching both sports in NWA. Coach Bumsted is originally from Wichita, KS where he attended Maize High School and was a four team letterman in cross country and two time letterman in track. He earned all state honors twice in cross country and once in track. He attended the University of Arkansas and earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 2007 and Masters in the Art of Teaching in 2008. Coach Bumsted has also earned a second Masters degree from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership. He currently teaches Quantitative Literacy and Bridge to Algebra II at SHS. He married his wife Heather in 2008 and they have a five year old son named Jackman.
Brasher received his Masters in Education with Emphasis on Kinesiology and Social Studies. He has 34 years of coaching experience. He is currently Track and Field Coach at Springdale High School and has had coaching and teaching stops at Magnolia and Cabot Arkansas. Brasher has been married for 36 years to his wife Angela who is also an educator in the Springdale School District. His oldest son Stephen Brasher is Head Jr. High Football Coach, Head Varsity Soccer Coach, 8th grade History teacher in the Greenbriar Public School District and his son John Brasher is closing in on becoming a commercial airline pilot as well as obtaining a degree in Business from the University of Central Arkansas.
Bobby Watson moved to Springdale, AR in 1988. He attended Thurman G. Smith Elementary School, Central Jr. High, and Springdale High School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Watson graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in History from the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Southern Arkansas University. He began his career at Central Jr. High where he has worked and coached since 2015. This is his first year to teach and coach at the high school level and he is so excited to be at his Alma Mater, Springdale High School.
Coach Watson has been married to his wife Alisha for 14 years and they have 3 wonderful children. Kadence is the oldest and only daughter. She is 12 years old and is a 7th grader at Hellstern Middle School. Tripp is the middle child at 9 years old and is a 4th grader at Shaw Elementary, and Jaxson is the baby at 5 years old. Jaxson is starting his kindergarten year at Shaw Elementary with his big brother.
Hobbs graduated from Springdale High School in 2000. While at Springdale, he played football and baseball and won a Conference Championship in football (99) and State Runners up in 99. He was a member of the 1998 State Championship in Baseball and Conference Champions in 99 and 2000. Hobbs was All–Conference in Baseball 99 and 2000. In Football, he earned All-Conference in (98 and 99) and All-State in 99. He also earned 5A West Defensive Lineman of the year, All Arkansas Team, NWA Defensive Player of the year, AP Super Team and played in the football All-Star game. After High School, Coach Hobbs earned a scholarship at Arkansas Tech University and was a 3 year starter at Linebacker and earned 1st Team All Gulf South Conference honors in 2004. He is currently 8th all-time in school history in career tackles. Hobbs also played in the Division II National Playoffs. After earning a Bachelor's degree in 2005, he was a Graduate Assistant Coach at ATU and graduated with a Masters in Education Degree in 2008. Hobbs is starting 17th year coaching. First serving as a Graduate Assistant at Arkansas Tech from (05-07) coaching Defensive Line and Linebackers. In 2008, he became the Defensive Coordinator at Van Buren High School from 2008-2012. In 2013, Hobbs went to Charleston High School and was the Defensive Coordinator from 2013-2015 where they won back to back State Championships in 2013 and 2014. While at Charleston, they were twice named ARFCA 3A coaching staff of the year and he was also the Defensive Coordinator for the 2015 West All-Star team. In 2019, Hobbs was inducted into the Springdale Athletics Hall of Fame. He is entering his 1st season at Springdale High School as the Head Coach for the Bulldogs. He is married to Meagan Hobbs.
Brooks Muller is a 2001 graduate of Springdale High School. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2006 and completed his Master's Degree in 2009 from the University of Central Arkansas. Brooks coached in Morrilton for 12 years serving as the Defensive Line coach for 8 years and spending the last 4 years as the Defensive Coordinator in addition to coaching the defensive line. He is beginning his first year as an assistant with the Bulldog Football Program.
Coach Gardner is a native of Wynne, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis in 2014 and in 2017 earned a Master’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management from the University of Arkansas. From 2015 to 2017, Coach Gardner was the Assistant Strength Coach for the University of Arkansas Men’s Basketball Team. In 2017, he also created a Youth Fitness Program at the Northwest Athletic Club in Springdale, which focuses on character-building and improving athleticism.
In 2018, he became the Assistant Junior High Basketball Coach at Southwest Junior High, and he is currently the Assistant Track & Field Coach at Springdale High School. Since 2014, he has been a licensed personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He lives in Fayetteville with his wife Carmen and two dogs, Milo and Ace. Coach Gardner enjoys going on walks with his wife and dogs, lifting weights, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and Memphis Tigers.

Coach McGinnis received his Associate degree from Westark Community College in Fort Smith in 1979 and graduated from The College of the Ozarks in Clarksville with a bachelor’s degree in 1982. His first teaching and coaching position was at Central Jr High in 1982, coaching football, basketball and track. In 1990 he was named the Head Baseball Coach and started the baseball program at Springdale High. He coached baseball until 2007, winning 4 conference championships, 1 state runner-up in 1992 and 1 state championship in 1998. He also served as assistant football coach from 1990 – 2009 at SHS being a part of 7 conference championships, 3 state runner-ups and 1 state championship in 2005. In 2009, he became the Head Bowling Coach at Springdale High. The 2015 Girls Bowling team won the first bowling conference championship at SHS. He coached the SHS boys and girls Tennis teams in 2018. He is married to Marietta and they have one son Will.
Derek is in his eighth season with the Red Dogs and serves as the Defensive Line Coach. Derek graduated from Southside High School in Fort Smith where he was a 3 Year Letterman in both Football and Track, was twice selected as All State and won the 2002 AAAAA Football State Championship. Following his high school career, Derek went on to play college football and was a 2004 Letterman at the University of Arkansas. Following his playing career he began his coaching career at the University of Arkansas as a Student Assistant from 2005-2008. He was then named Defensive Graduate Assistant at Arkansas for the 2008-2009 season. In 2009, he left the University of Arkansas to become the Defensive Coordinator at Jacksonville High School. He then became the Defensive Coordinator at Arkadelphia High School from 2010-2013. Derek received his BSE in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas. Derek and his wife Erin have been married for 10 Years and have two sons Ellis (4) and Hayden (1).

Coach Beeler is a graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield, MO where he played 4 years of soccer. He was a member of two district championship teams during his time at Kickapoo. He is a graduate of Baylor University where he played on the men's soccer team for 4 years. Beeler is entering his 16th season as the Head Coach of the Bulldogs Soccer program. He is currently the Head Coach for both the men's and women's programs. Since taking over the Bulldog Soccer program, Beeler has an overall record of 217-51-9 with the men's program. Beeler has been named Coach of the Year 5 times and his men's teams have won 6 conference championships and 3 state titles.
Eric Middleton is in his 11th season at Springdale High School after spending 28 years coaching in Louisiana. Middleton has 39 years of experience as a high school and collegiate coach that included stops at West Monroe High School, Neville High School, Minden High School, Riverfield Academy, and Louisiana College. Middleton has a background of winning that includes 276 wins, 27 playoff appearances, 13 semi- final games, 9 state final games, 5 state championships, and 2 National Championships. He graduated from University of Louisiana - Monroe in 1982 with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Social Studies. Coach Middleton is married to Susan Middleton and they have four children and nine grandchildren. Football continues to be a family tradition, as Coach Middleton's two sons are high school football coaches.
Coach Young is in his 2nd year of coaching at Springdale High School. In 2009-10 he was the Assistant Coach at Elk City High School Wrestling; In 2011 he became the Head Wrestling Coach at Elk City High School and the Assistant Jr. High Football Coach (District/Conference Champs) ; In 2012-15 he was Head Jr. High Wrestling Coach at Shawnee High School (Conference Champs 2015) and Head 7th grade Football Coach (Conference runner up); In 2015-16 he was the Assistant Wrestling Coach Shawnee High School;

Coach Greg Tiner is entering his 7th year with the Red Dogs as the Defensive Line-Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Greg came to Springdale from Monticello High School where he had coached for 20 years. The last 4 as head coach, where they made the playoffs all 4 years. Before going to Monticello in 1994, Tiner coached in the college ranks for 7 years. From 1989-1992 he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mississippi State University. Before that he was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Louisiana State University From 1986-1988 where they won 2 SEC Championships. Prior to that he coached at Sheridan High School from 1983-1985 and Hamburg High School from 1981-1983. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1975 and the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1979 with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education. He and his wife Kif have 2 daughters Sydney 31 and Shelby 27.

Heather Hunsucker is entering her 11th year as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs. She reached win 100 last year with the program. There are four former Lady Bulldogs playing in college currently. Coach Hunsucker is looking forward to the future of the program! Before taking over the Reddogs, Coach Hunsucker served as an assistant coach at Fayetteville High School where the team won two 7A State titles and four conference championships.

Head Girls and Boys Wrestling
Coach Rivers started his coaching career in 2011 at Har-ber High school in Springdale AR as an assistant coach. In 2015 after much success at Har-ber coach Rivers took over as the Head wrestling coach at Springdale High School. In the past 6 seasons the Bulldogs have been able to produce 38 state medalists, including 6 state champions and 3 state runner ups. The Bulldog team has finished Top 7 at the state tournament 5 of the last 6 years including 1 top 5 and 1 top 4. In his first season he was able to coach Tre Ponce to be Springdale High's first state champion. Tre Ponce would also go on to being Northwest Arkansas first college All American, while wrestling for Labette. Springdale has also had 6 wrestlers go on to wrestle at the collegiate level in the past 6 years. Including his time at Springdale Har-ber and Springdale High coach Rivers has produced 63 State medalists including 8 state champions and 7 state runner ups. Coach Rivers graduated from Rogers Heritage High School, where he wrestled under Randy Steen and as a team captured 2 conference championships, State runner up in 2009 and a State Championship in 2010. He attended the University of Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Education Degree.
Coach Rivers is married to Kinsey and his hobbies include sports and outdoor activities.
Assistant Girls Soccer
Karen Sosa has played locally since she was 7 years old. She started recreationally and then played competitively for the Arkansas Comets & Fayetteville High School.
Coach Sosa played College soccer at Iowa Lakes Community College (Inaugural Season) and then at John Brown University for 3 years.
Her coaching experience includes: 2 seasons with the Springdale Youth Center, Co-Coached 1 season with Arkansas Comets in 2019, she will be coaching the 2012 and 2013 Comet Academy Clubs, and is currently in the 3rd season with the Springdale High School Girls Soccer program.
She’s Married to Juan Gonzalez who’s also an avid soccer fanatic and they have a dog, Tony Gonzalez. In her spare time she likes to watch Disney Plus, play indoor soccer, go out to eat, and she loves to plan trips.
Coach Gillespie is in her 18th year in Springdale Public Schools. From 2004-2018, I worked at George Junior High, coached the dance team, and taught Communication and Drama. In 2019, I took over as head coach of the SHS Dance team, and am currently teaching English Language Development. Originally from Little Rock, I called Northwest Arkansas home after Graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, and a Master's Degree in Teaching Secondary Education. My first dance class was at the age of three, and continued studio training in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop for 20 years. I also taught classes at a local studio for 7 years until I was hired in Springdale. Three of my most memorable moments are performing on stage with Gregory Hines, meeting and working with Paula Abdul, and taking tap classes at Steps on Broadway in New York City. I have a 16 year old son that plays baseball, and a 10 year old daughter that takes tap, jazz, and hip hop classes. I love working with my dancers everyday and witnessing their love for the sport. I am truly honored to be part of the Springdale Public Schools and Springdale Athletics family. Go Dogs!

Coach Ballard is a graduate of Fort Smith Southside High School. She played volleyball at The University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2013 and 2014 and graduated from Arkansas Tech University. For the past 3 years, she has taught Physical Education at Springdale High School. During that time, she has served as an assistant volleyball coach, and has added the role of assistant softball coach. Coach Ballard is very excited to be a part of both volleyball and softball and meet one of her many goals she has set for her career.
She feels blessed with the opportunities that athletics has given her throughout life and is continuously reminded of how important athletics and other activities are for students to be a part of. She says it’s very rewarding to pass along her knowledge of the two games she is so passionate about.
Ballard and her fiancé enjoy living an active lifestyle, but also enjoy slowing down and relaxing when time allows.

Coach Hervey is entering his 17th year in the district and 13th as Head Swim & Dive Coach at Springdale High School. In that time the program has had over 70 all conference selections, broken 14 school records, 9 all-state selections and 7 state champions. He currently teaches PE/Health at Archer Learning Center. Coach Hervey enjoys cool mornings on his deck watching the sunrise with a hot coffee.

Coach Jennings enters his 6th season as an assistant coach for the Springdale Lady Bulldogs. He teaches PE, Sports Medicine, and Adaptive PE at SHS. He is married to Amy Duncan Jennings, who also teaches at Springdale High School. They enjoy hiking and going to the lake, live music, and spending time with their basset hound, Sophie. They love being Red Dogs because of the culture and the family atmosphere.
Coach Middleton is entering his 11th year at Springdale HS. He graduated from West Monroe HS in 2005 and from Louisiana College in 2009. Middleton has coached Cornerbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers during his tenure. He previously served as Wide Receivers coach for 2 years at Natchitoches Central HS in Natchitoches, LA (2009-2011). Nate has 2 daughters, Aubree (9) and Ellie (7) that attend Shaw Elementary and both do competitive gymnastics.

Coach Alderman is married to Annetta Alderman. He has been in education for 35 years, including 25 years as a math teacher and 10 years as a math coach. This is his 7th year at Springdale High School as a math coach. Alderman was a head high school baseball coach for 14 years and a former NAIA 1st team academic all-american baseball player.
Reid Malone is the new head volleyball coach at Springdale High School. He previously coached two years as the assistant volleyball coach for Cabot High School and one year at Russellville High School. While at UCA, he was the student-assistant coach for the conference championship volleyball program for two years and helped start the first ever NCAA beach volleyball program in the state. Reid also spent 5 years as a USAV club volleyball coach for 501 Volley in Little Rock. Coach Malone hasn't finished his playing career as he competes in tournaments all over the country as both an indoor and beach player. He is excited to move to Springdale with his girlfriend, Ellyn, and their two dogs, Lincoln and Michelle.

Trudi Spencer is in her 4th year as head coach of Bulldog Softball. Prior to coaching at SHS she coached basketball at Lakeside Junior high for 4 years. She also was the head coach at Cotter for 7-12 Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. She teaches Health and adaptive PE.
